Time-Saving Breakfast Tips {Blueberry Muffins and Waffles}

Whether you are a stay at home mom with littles running around, a momma on the go with a time card to punch or a combination of the two, here are a couple of time-saving recipes for Blueberry Muffins and Waffles designed to make your time in the kitchen more efficient and the food on your table more enjoyable.

These recipes are for zip top bags. I prepare about four at a time and store them in a basket inside our cabinet. When we are running short on time or I just want to eat breakfast quickly, I grab a bag from the cabinet and within minutes have muffins in the oven or waffles on the griddle. This has been a major time saver and makes motherhood operate with more efficiency.

One Word: {Freedom}

Recently, the question was asked, “If you could describe what you desire God to do in your life right now in one word, what would it be?”

Immediately, I knew my answer. With one question a whole season of struggle came pouring out of my soul.

I desire freedom.

Freedom to know and accept my identity as a child of God.

Freedom from striving to earn acceptance.

Freedom from the plagues of fear and worry.

Freedom to rest in the sovereignty and timing of God when I want to take control.

Freedom from dwelling in the painful places of the past.

Freedom to leave broken dreams behind and pick up the plans of God.

Freedom to love without reservation.

Freedom from the distractions that seek to take precedence over my priorities.

Freedom to express my heart without fear of rejection.

I know where this freedom is found, and yet, I’m feeble in my quest to receive it. It’s found in Christ alone. Everyday I must remind myself of the steps necessary to receive Christ’s freedom in its truest form.

The most integral part of receiving freedom is in making Jesus the Lord of our lives; there is no other place by which true freedom is found. Once, we have taken this crucial first step, we begin a lifelong journey of learning to abide in him. This is where I am. I am in progress. I’m not complete – I’m learning every day. But here’s what my journey has taught me thus far.

I’m passionate about Jesus!  To be downright honest, He’s won my heart with His relentless pursuit of me in the midst of all my failures. I have not one ounce of doubt that He loves me unconditionally. My victories and my failures neither increase nor decrease His love for me. His love is solely based on who He is, and not on who I am or what I do. Therefore, as I continue to abide in Him and cooperate with his leading I believe I will receive His freedom that leads to victory over all my struggles. And, I believe that whatever it is you are seeking, it can also be found in Christ.

“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us – whatever we ask – we know that we have what we asked of him.” – 1 John 5:14-15 (NIV) (emphasis mine)

We all have seasons in our journey when we experience a longing in our heart. We may know immediately what it is we desire or we may struggle to put our desire into words. Regardless of where you are, take comfort from the God who knows your thoughts, your longings, and, yes He knows that thing you’re desiring deep within.  So, I leave you with the same question, “If you could describe what you desire God to do in your life right now in one word, what would it be?”

Leave your word in the comments below, and let’s start praying that one word over one another.

Be blessed, my friends!
